SPRING INTO YOUR NEW BEST SELF

3 easy tips for spring cleaning!

Spring is my favorite season of the year... right behind winter, of course! Spring to me means shedding the layers that we have used all winter long and experiencing new beginnings and new life around every corner. Spring is like a breath of fresh air and gives our life, purpose, muscles, ideas, and our spirit new and revitalized enthusiasm.

With all of this fresh new energy and zest to execute new ideas, I need to purposefully clean out the old and declutter my spaces, my thoughts, and my stuff. The question is, where and when do we start getting rid of the OLD?

1. I like to start with ME – physically, mentally, and emotionally. I’ve been trying to incorporate more meditation, breathing and yoga into my longer days. Cold, darkness and gray skies really have an impact on me, so spring is the perfect time to be more mindful about moods and how to purposely make a change. Once I start with more mindfulness in my body, I’m able to transfer my energy on to the next phase of my spring clean.

2. I clean out my spaces. My office, my computer files, my room, my closet. Because my kiddos love junk - their room is a daunting challenge for me to take on. When I can declutter all of my “physical” possessions and spaces it makes me feel lighter and less attached to the unimportant. It also is a great reminder for me that LESS is actually MORE!!

3. My last step is to look back at the past few months and take inventory of all that went well in life and all that I want to improve on this season. I focus on the 3 things that served me the LEAST and I make a commitment to cut those out and make room for new practices to flow in. Most importantly- I pinpoint one thing that I want to improve as my “non-negotiable.” This is where I plan to see the most change and improvement in my life. It can be personal, professional, health-related, financial, etc. This is what I am saying YES to in my life!

It’s time to dust off the bikes and start riding again!
