ARE YOU MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR SUMMER?

Shannon’s summer update.

Someone once told me that you only get 18 summers with your kiddos, so don’t waste a single one of them. It goes fast!

But as a working parent, I know how hard it is to juggle both. So if you feel like you are coming up short on your FUN this summer, here are 5 tips to get work done AND ensure your kiddos have the best summer ever.

Please leave a comment and share your own tips for summer success!

  1. Embrace the sneaky beach day.

Who said you can’t mix business with pleasure? Pull off a sneaky beach day by setting up your laptop under the beach umbrella while your kids build sandcastles. Just don’t forget to periodically look up and pretend you’re keeping an eye on them. Hey, you’re multitasking like a boss!

2. Turn chores into a water fight extravaganza.

Dishes, laundry, and tidying up can be quite a drag. Spice things up by transforming chores into a splash-tastic water fight! Watch those chores get done at lighting speed as you and your kids soak each other with water guns and giggles. Pro tip: waterproof everything.

3. Explore the Popsicle Policy.

Institute the official Popsicle Policy at your home! Every time you hear the phrase “I’m bored,” whip out a delicious, icy treat to turn down the summer heat and stop those complaints dead in their tracks. Warning: May lead to an increased demand for popsicles.

4. Organize conference calls in nature.

Who says conference calls have to be confined to a stuffy office? Take those important work calls outside and have your kids join in on the fun. Let them showcase their newfound bird-calling skills as you impress your boss with your ability to conduct meetings in a jungle-themed environment.

5. Set up a sandcastle construction company.

Harness the boundless energy of your little architects and turn their sandcastle-building passion into a family business. Promote teamwork, project management, and of course, creative architecture. You might just find yourself building the next sandy Taj Mahal.

Remember, working parents, laughter and creativity are the keys to unlocking the best summer ever! Embrace the chaos, enjoy every moment, and make memories that will last a lifetime. You’ve got this!
